The Immigration Health Surcharge is currently applicable to migrant workers from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) if they are entering the UK to study or work for a period of more than 6 months.
The Immigration Health Surcharge was increased in October 2020 from £400 to £624. From 1st January 2021, the Immigration Health Surcharge will also apply to new migrant workers from within the EEA. A reduced rate of £470 (previously £300) will apply to students, their dependents, Youth Mobility Visa holders and anyone
under 18 years old.
